    Personally, I'd go with King.

I like both. I think both are reputable companies who stand behind there and products, and both perform well. It come down to more of a personal choice, which do you like better.

Fox. I had a side by side comparison on materials used by both, and lost it. Just do some research, read a bunch. I wanted to bro down and get king for my new build, but fox seemed to be just a bit further ahead on build quality and materials. Have fox on my 01, zero complaints.

I went with fox, and if you get the kit from Toytec I suggest I don't go their route of add a leaf and just get a set of dakar leafs.

Talked to a very reputable shop that mostly deals with Toyota trucks.
Was about a 30min call just talking about what set up to go with.

Basically said Icon, Fox and King are the best offered for toyotas. He said the Icons are ok but require rebuilds often. Kings will give you the best off road performance BUT same thing as Icon's they require a lot of rebuild. This one shop told me they're rebuilding them about once a year and thats with seasonal off road use.
At the end of it he told me if I have endless cash to waste on it get the kings, if I want something that will perform great off road but not the best, but be one of the better on road rides (since my truck is also my daily) and better longevity, said go with the Fox.
And considering the Kings were more money, figure I could take his advice as trustworthy since they're not making more money off me buying fox.
I went with Remote resi 2.5 extended travel, Total Chaos UCA, Dakar leafs, remote resi rear shocks and compression adjustment on both front and rear.

This same shop has 2 SAS FJs

yep the rust factor was another big thing the shop I dealt with mentioned.
Although he said rust proof no matter what brand.
Also mentioned in the case of the Total Chaos UCA vs Icon. Icon unibal is covered so the elements won't bother it as quick BUT you cannot do anything for it, and can't really see if it's getting bad. So the vice is also the plus with the TC. Yes it isn't protected, but its visible so you can spray em with fluid film etc.

I'm in Ontario Canada so winter is no stranger to us, especially the shit loads of salt this city uses

that's what I was told, as long as you take care of them and grease the zerks, and fluid film in the winter months.

I installed the Fox Coilovers and rear shocks on my FJ. My biggest complaint about that setup was not being able to adjust the ride height, on the vehicle. I was having to measure, remove, adjust, reinstall, repeat. It was a PITA.

I chose the Kings setup this time around and have zero complaints. They ride well at highway speeds and off-road. When I go long-travel, I'll buy another set of kings.

Fox coilovers can be adjusted on the vehicle... why would you remove to adjust the height?

You live in Cali, buy king. If you lived in Canada with -50 temperature and road salt buy fox. End of story
