Hey guys, need a little help. Trying to put in a 3 leaf AAL but when trying to reassemble, the centering holes aren’t aligning like how I’ve seen/read. Everyone’s centering holes seem to be a lot more centered than mines. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Is it facing the right way.... turn it around or slide it until it lines up. Where is the c-clamp on those springs.
Edit... it also looks like you took both sides apart.... it is recommended to do one side at a time. Loosen one side and take the other side apart, put back together loosely then move to the other side, put back together, lower and torque down everything.

That’s the stock springs, so I didn’t remove anything besides the overload. Removed the c clamps to get the AAL in there

Been trying that, got any more ideas? I’ve tried whacking it back with a hammer. Jacking up and down various times to try get it aligned so I can shove something in to hold it. I’ve clamped different leaves together to try pull it. Idk what else to do

I would remove the whole pack so you have some room to work and give it a go.

Last time I did mine, I used the old leaf retaining pin coming down from the top to align everything (use a new one once aligned and clamped).

    Clamp
    Remove pin
    Insert old pin from top
    Add new leafs below
    Install new pin from bottom

Was there a pin holding everything together originally?

It looks like if you turn the leaf around the holes would be a a lot closer to lining up.

I’d try two things possibly. With a large punch and hammer try hitting the sides of the clamps that are holding the springs together in the direction you want the leaf to go. If that doesn’t work or make sense try spreading the clamps a little and the springs should be able to move laterally. When I did mine I just loosened the rear hanger bolts but didn’t remove the pack.

Yes the pin is on the ground some where, I tried to pull it from the top but the top didn’t align. I think I’m going to try loosen the. Rear mounts to try and slide to see if that’ll work.

You need two sets of clamps. One to hold the original pack together at each end (place them so the aal can be positioned without hitting the clamps. And another set to tighten up the aal in. Use the pin as the centering feature (drop in from the top down) to push each of the aal leafs in

It's possible the shims are blocking you pushing the bold through. It really is soooo much easier to do with the pack completely removed.

Fuck yeah! I fucken got it hahaha. Holy moly I’m so relieved. Loosening the rear leaf hanger was what it took. Everything could move super easy after that. Sorry for overreacting everyone.

Just checking but you didn’t take the whole pack apart and doing the bottom 2 leafs 180 degrees? I see the clips still installed so I doesn’t appear that you did.

Disregard I see you got it! Good luck finishing it up.
