3" lift advice (2010 access cab)

    I have done a lot of searching/reading, and have learned so much from this site. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. I still have a few questions though....

    I have a 2010 trd offroad access cab with a canopy on the back. It will be my daily driver for my sales job, but It will also take me on fishing trips on a regular basis. When going on these trips, the truck is fully loaded up with gear and has a 140lb boat on top. I will be doing moderate off-roading to get to the lakes, but some of these roads can get reaaallly nasty with huge ruts. Because of this, I want to get a 3" lift, and better tires. Now here are my questions about getting a lift:

    1. OME 884's or 885's? Will 885's be too stiff for around the city? Will 884's be too soft for off-roading when im loaded up with all of my gear, boat, etc? I don't plan on any aftermarket bumper, but maybe a light off-road bar.

    2. If I go with coilovers (toytec ultimate lift), what are my advantages? where do they slot in regarding ride stiffness between 884's and 885's?

    3. Why does the toytec OME package get a 3" lift up front and 2" AAL lift in the back? won't this create an uneven lift???

    4. The guy at the off-roading store told me the OME lift only does 1.75" of lift? I thought it could get me 3" of lift without spacers?

    1. With an access cab you will probably be fine with the 884s, the load in the bed wont affect the front springs.
    2. With the coilovers you get better travel and more adjustment. Cant say what the difference in ride is, my OMEs ride great.
    3. The toytec lift is 3'' in the front because your truck already sits higher in the rear, the lift will help it sit level.
    4. Depends on springs.

    I read that the spring rate is the same on the 884/885's, so If I put 885's on my v6 4x4 access cab without a bullbar,etc, should I be fine? Will I be sacraficing a lot of ride quality over the 884's?

    We normally recommend the 884's if you don't have a double cab or additional aftermarket bumper. You can go with the 885's but the ride will definitely be stiffer than the 884's (the coil is longer than the 884).

    The Ultimate Kit you were looking at originally is a GREAT kit. Everything in it comes with a life time warranty where as the OME gear comes with just a limited two year warranty. With the Ultimate, you will always be able to adjust your suspension to the exact ride height your looking for, where as the OME gear you are basically stuck with what you get.

    go with the low range lift kit cheap easy works great
