the only thing i'll add to this thread, which came about after years and years of wheeling (in my case, first broncos and then jeeps, this is my first taco and i'm not going to wheel it) - and i'm not saying i'm an expert, this is only my personal observation based upon my own actual years of offroad experience - is that lower lifts with bigger tires = more capable offroad rigs than bigger lifts with the same or even bigger tires. all other things being equal, it's all about COG. once you figure this out, it all falls into place and you make your build around this focus. many people in this thread have touched on this and truly know what they speak about.

when i was a newb to offroading, i wanted the huge lift and huge tires. those rigs looked badass. and if that's all you want, the badass look, sure, i say go for it. once i began to have a clue about how COG affects a rig's performance offroad (and i'm talking mainly about rock crawling and ass puckering off camber situations), however, it's like a light bulb went off. i saw proof of this too many times to mention. the smart money in offroading is spent not going high. don't care if you have ifs or sas.

carry on with your very interesting discussion. thanks.

I don't see your purse anywhere in any of those pictures. By chance, did you drop it on one of those trails? :D
