I had them (Headstrong) assemble the springs with new top hats and lean spacer. The charge was 90 bucks. Cheaper than a local shop. Plus you get new top hats.

I'm was running 887's and had a single leaf aal and no the ass end was sagging. I went with the 3 leaf aal and it sits level and it rides/handles much better

Not quite 3" (front only about 1.5") but just got my kit installed last week.

5100s all around (fronts set to 0"), OME 881s w/driver side 1/4" spacer, Headstrong 3 leaf AAL in the rear w/factory overload retained.

No xtra weight up front, I do have a spare tire/mountain bike rack mounted on my bed with a 285/75/16 mount on it. I do pull a 20' boat or a 6x12 trailer loaded with my man toys. Lol. It handles great and drops very little when loaded.
The front did settle to about 2.75.

What width are your wheels? I'm looking at getting 887's with the 3 leaf AAL pack and prefer the look of a 17"+ rim, just wondering if I should go 17x8 or 17x9.

I have a 2009 dcsb 4x4 and Was thinking of buying from headstrong either the bilstein 5100/ 887/ Dakar/ LR UCA for 3 inch lift and 285 70 17 ko2 tires. Or getting the performance kit with 6112/5160/ Dakar. I wanted to get a 3 " lift so that I would have room for the 285's. Not sure if this kit would get me 3" and if I could use 285s. Also not sure if I would need and UCA with that kit either. I am definitely a newbie, but I want to do it right the first time with little regrets. Any help or suggestions would be helpful

I start at 3" it has settled a little. I am running 285s did have a little rub. I took a heat gun to it and re molded where needed. In regards to needing UCA'S my truck aligned good. No issues at all.

I guess if both kits would accommodate the 285 it comes down to quality and price. I can get the 6112 setup for the same money as the 5100 minus the UCAs. If I don't need the UCAs with the 6112 kit then that seems like the way to go. I don't know if the 6112 kit can get the full 3" or just 2.5" in which I wouldn't need the UCAs. I don't do a lot of off-roading. But I do want it to perform as best as possible and be as big of a lift without getting into a lot of money and having to alter my truck too much. I definitely want to stay within the 2.5 to 3". Thanks

I don't want to go cheap. I do want a good ride and a good lift and do it right the first time.
I was just seeing if it's worth it to go with the 6112 and if I could get 3" with that and use a UCA.
Or if I can only achieve 3" with the 5100/887 and I can get the UCA for the same price as the 6112 without UCA

    5100/887/ Dakar and UCA=$1600 (and 3")

6112/ Dakar without UCA =$1600 (and unsure if 3" and the need for UCA?)

Can 6112 setup get 3" and therefore need a UCA?

It sits level now, rides/handles better and it don't squat like a female dog when I hook my boat up to it.

Does anyone have pictures or a thread that can show what was needed to get trimmed to fit 33's with a 5100/887/LR UCA/ Dakar? Thanks TW fam

Rim specs play a big factor within that issue.
