Do not know what kind yet, but either 265 / 70 or 285/70. Got to see what will fit.

take a look at my build...i runn 255-80-17 km2's they actually measure 33.5in tall and 10.2in wide.....only a tiny bit of inner fender trimming needed...lots of ground clearence, great on and off road ride...no loss in mpg's....cheaper then 285's...better looking and taller then 265's...imo

I have a 2.5-3in coilover lift with 285-65-18 Nitto Trail Grapplers (18in Hoss with 4.5BS). All i trimmed was the factory mud flaps and the wheel well plastic. The shoulders of the tires *barely* rub the cab mounts...cant even hear or feel them kissing the cab mounts at all - no cutting needed unless you just want to clear them better than 90% :)

You can do 285/60/18 or 265/65/18 without trimming, or 285/65/18 with proper backspacing and some trimming.

Yea my combo worked out nearly 100% perfect and that is with the Trail grapplers which (not sure about other tires) run larger than what the sizes tell you.
According to Nitto.com (and a tape measure to confirm), my 285 Trails measure in reality to 11.93 inches wide which is a as good as calling it a 12in wide tire :)

I havent regretted choosing this 18in, 4.5BS wheel/tire combo for a second! Ive even thought about pushing my luck next time and trying 305-60s in there! :D

The problem with your 18s that you're seeing is that they have tires on them with too low of a profile for that 3in lift, not simply because they are 18s.
In other words, your rims aren't too big....your tire's sidewalls are just too short.

What size tires are on your truck right now??

And personally, I think my 285-65-18 MTs look dead sexy on 2.5-3pm lift! :D
