Question of the day that has been beaten like a dead horse: Bilstein 6112 up front or OME + 887 !?

So I will need OME 885 with spacers kit and a pair of UCA's and I should b able to fit 285/75/17 right.

So with Billies and 885 coils with no top spacer it should give you about 2.5" of lift?

The "kit" can be any combination of brands.....I'd refer to it as a "package"....made up of various brands tailored to your needs. Coils are OME.....Shocks can be OME, Bilstien, or a number of other brands. Spacers are pretty much "generic" from brand to brand....I'm doing 885's WITHOUT the 1/2" spacers for a 2-1/2" lift.

I'd suggest if you're going with ome coils go with ome shocks as well.

With the budget you have you should be able to go full ome lift. There's lots of spring options for the differing weights of our truck.

Kit comes with replacement spring packs- there's an extra Dakar leaf you can purchase though.

As with ANYTHING....there's mixed reviews with all the options. What some people like, others aren't as happy.....There's a few threads on here where TW member CROM states he doesn't like the OME shocks on the front. Others have high opinions.....Bottom line, it's all about personal taste. And it would be VERY boring if we all did the same exact thing. What would we have to talk about then? ;)

I only wanted 3 " to make sure 33 will fit, some guy at a local shop said he recommended a 2.5 day star spacer and that I could run 33 with it with 1 1/2 block on rear. Was under 450 installed but he seemed a little shady and I don't know much about lifts.

That's garbage. Do it right. Go with the OME. You have a 30g plus truck. Do not install a $300 lift. With a 2.5" of lift done correctly you will fit 33's (285's). Do it right the first time.

You can make that work, but if you have a healthy budget, I'd go for something a little higher quality......

I've used spacers to lift trucks and had great success with them. And personally, I like blocks more than AAL's.....The big difference will be in the quality of the shock itself AND the ability to carry a load......

Dont do a spacer. If you just want to fit 33s and performance isn't a huge deal to you is say go with the toytec 3" lift. It's a taller, stiffer spring and only a 1/2" spacer. It uses the factory shocks and the ride is not great but good. And it comes with a block or AAL in the rear. Can't beat it for around $300.

Ha-ha! You say spacer and everyone jumps down your throat. Do your homework and thick about what you're using the lift for. If you're just interested in a good looking truck with a tough stance that's going to see mostly pavement a budget-friendly kit will fit the bill and you'll save some $ for other mods. If you're planning to go off road spend the $ the first time and do it right, you have the budget to do so.

No I'm gonna go with OME 885 with spacers, prob do it myself on my days off. Also gonna look for some UCA's for it. Hopefully 285/75/17 fit.

That sounds like an awesome set up. The tires should fit. I went with the camburg UCAS wheelers off road sells them with moog ball joints installed. I went with the ball joints as I've heard that the uniballs can get squeaky and living in AZ I wanted the sealed boot.
