I’m curious as I’m doing my first 3 link and was looking at your upper link axle end mount. Why so high? I took some measurements and would think it would hit the motor and frame at articulation

That looks to be for the rear.
Good to see Brian is still up and running.

What does having the taller upper axle end link mount gain you? Better anti dive?

I've said it many times. Its about the flat lower, without making it stupid long.

I see that reading your last q&a from 2018. In your article you linked you say “long arms” start at 32 inches but don’t say what “stupid long” is. I know all vehicles are different but talking tacomas and 4runners which use similar wheelbase and frames, what is considered to long? Your other thread says you shoot for a 39-42 in link. How much longer than that is to long? I’m looking at a 44-45 inch lower and 42-43 inch upper.

my other question is the anti dive. You say no less than 70%. Plugging in my rough numbers (no clue if I did it right) shows me at a 45-50% anti dive. I’m essentially out of room and any taller upper link on the axle end will get into the motor/frame on articulation even with raising the motor 2.50-2.75 and remaking the front frame rails.

My main concern is an unstable/unloading front as I wheel a lot of big climbs/off camber (moab/sand hollow). It’s not uncommon for shorter jeeps to unload on climbs but how much is that relative to bad suspension geometry vs a short wheelbase? My target wheelbase is 126-128 but I may end up closer to 130.

I still have a lot of cycling and moving things slightly to try but still gathering info as well.
