I'm guessing that this is for the first gens only, or could it be adapted to the 2nd and 3rd gens as well?

It is intended for the 79-04 trucks and 84-02 4Runners but......... yes you could use this on the newer vehicles. I've finally got some electronic files that will allow me to design for the 05-21 crowd but it will certainly be a while as I've discussed some pretty serious up grades that go way above and beyond whats currently available.

Whats the cost and expected release date?

Hopefully it's not a dying design where 4wu decide to forget and jump to bigger and better things, lol. Like other manufacture promising bumpers etc for our first gen and never got around to do what they say they would do.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the 05 and newer. Let me know if you need a pickup to test the waters on.;) I'd be happy to drop it off and let you cut it up.:sawzall:

I have a driver side drop 4WU kit and I have to say, it works friggin’ awesome.
I encourage anybody that wants to link the front, go with this. After speaking to Marlin in 2014 @ SEMA, he sold me on this kit.
I hope this helps the OP in making a decision.

So I’ve learned quite a bit linking mine and coming to the close of finishing it up and have some questions for others with 3 links up front. Typically people use a 14 inch coil over. My questions are:

1 how much uptravel do you have?

2 how much of the 14 inch shock are you using? (Full extension of the shock, 10 inches of travel etc)

3 does your steering bind at full droop/articulation from the travel.

haven’t driven mine yet but I did a lot of “extra” work it seemed vs most to use the entire shock and still had to limit about 1.5-2 inches of down travel due to steering binding.

I'm in a 16 and have 6.25 on the shock.

I use all of it with limit straps set 1" from bottom out. Allowing for stretch of the strap.

No steering bind because of low ride ht and lots of uptravel.

    Here is my 2 cents:

1 how much uptravel do you have? 4.5

2 how much of the 14 inch shock are you using? (Full extension of the shock, 10 inches of travel etc) all of it lol about 8.5-9 of down travel.

3 does your steering bind at full droop/articulation from the travel. My turning radius binds a little but that due to my lower link placement which needs to be addressed.

In a perfect world, I wanted to go with Brian's Kit. The only reason I didn't was due to the fact I'm running an Atlas II. There would have been clearance issues due to the physical size of the T case. If I would have kept the Toyota duals, that's the bracket kit I would have went with.

His kit is well designed (and fabricated) and takes all the the hassle out of what I pieced together and would have saved a ton of time. The new 3 link year will be great as well for working around the gas tank.
