So I searched quite a few threads and builds, haven't found exactly what I am looking for. Forgive me please if the information exists elsewhere on this site. I haven't been active on truck forums since toyota120.com when I had an '03 4Runner.

I have a 2012 DoubleCab truck with a cheap lift and some very "high school" rims. The rims are 10.5 width I believe. I fit 285/75/17 right now.

I have acquired some 17" tall 7" wide 4Runner rims. I would like to run these on my truck.

I have on pre-order the AllPro Off-road "Lola" kit.

My question is... What are the largest tires I can run with this set up? I do not want to run spacers, I would rather purchase wider wheels or something with a more pronounced back spacing.

I am considering the bfg 34x10.5x17. These have the potential to be slightly too tall and I am not open to doing a CMC.

Thank you for any advice you can give. It is much appreciated, I have been going crazY trying to figure this out!

Great forum by the way. image.jpg

The 34s probably won't fit without a cmc and definitely some trimming.

285s usually require the cmc. A 255/80r17 would be 33x10 and should clear well. I think they look great too. Check them out.

    Thank you Adam.

That is exactly what I am looking for. That size is offered in the Cooper Discovery that I run now ( about an inch thinner).

I have always liked the tall and skinny tire look since I was a kid. I think it has to do with the euro rigs.

I'm with you on that. Most of what you see on rigs in rugged areas like Australia and Africa run tall and skinny. It works better for most things unless you really need the flotation of a bigger tire.

I run the 255 in a Toyo M55 and couldn't possibly be happier on and off road in all conditions. Consider this tire.

I peeked through your pictures but couldn't confirm, are you running these with a 3" kit and stock rims/no wheel spacers?

    @travistheone
I have 5100s set at 1.75. My Access Cab is lighter than a DC, so I got a little extra lift - somewhere close to 2.5". The tires are on stock wheels with no spacer. Keeping these inside the lip of the wheel well keeps you from having to trim the fender. The tire is narrow enough that I just barely rub the stock UCA at full lock. I have low profile (and flexible) aftermarket mudflaps. I do rub the flaps when turning at full stuff, but not enough to cause damage. The stock UCA has me at slightly low caster numbers (1.6 and 1.8, alignment cams are seized so that's where I'm at), which keeps the tire a little more forward in the wheel well. The truck tracks straight and doesn't have any bump steer, but the low caster definitely makes for a slightly looser feel to the steering.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Glad to hear the 255/80r17 will do what I want with 7" wheels.

I have been dealing with the factory UCA issues for a while now, getting all pro arms as soon as they ship my kit.

Ordered about three weeks ago. He said 3-5 weeks at that time. Your story is not encouraging. Is there something else I should buy? Icon?

Yeah, that information is not accurate. I spoke to the representative today, and was told it would be quite some time longer. They said they are looking into getting a different brand, but like I said, I have been waiting quite some time...

I also run 255/70/r17 in the cooper discover maxx st. Best hybrid tire i have ever driven on, 10ply and armor tech side wall. Quiet on road and aggressive for offroad, i would look into these. I had toyo m55 and they were heavy and loud and not as good IMO for all around driving. I have a 3 inch lift and I run front mud flaps with a tiny bit of trimming. Anything wider and taller and more offset will cause u problems on these trucks. Harder ion wheel bearings and body work.

Just saw in another post that someone who ordered the same kit mid Jan already got it and installed it...so they'll be getting an earful tomorrow, as the story I got today is that the kits would ship out in order placed

They wouldn't take my money up front. I tried.

So no issues with a refund because they had none of my money.
