Hey All I am new to the forum. I have searched numerous hours with the search forum about a 3" Rough Country Lift but my questions seemed to be answered very vaguely.

    My question is,

My buddy got deployed this past month, He sold me a 3" Rough Country lift with spacers and shocks. My question is, I have a 2013 Access Cab 5 Speed manual. I do not do any off-roading what so ever I just like a little more ride height. I have gotten mixed answers on drivability. I have always driven 1ton and 3/4 ton diesels my whole life and am used to a rough ride. I really am concerned about the ride ability, do I have to worry about shuttering or risk blowing a U Joint of CV shaft? Also axle wrap? I bought the lift for 100$ brand new and am just wondering if its worth the install for me. I do a lot of highway driving. I know there are WAY better options out there but for the price is it worth "the risk" of putting one in? Thank you guys....

Some people get shutter and vibes after lift, some dont. I got a readylift which is a spacer lift on mine which i should have gone with 5100. Other than that no vibesat all, allignment also went good. You should be fine.

Tinted windows - weathertech floor mats - removed front mudflaps - no seatbelt chime mod - fogs on anytime mod - Borla catback exhaust - afe throttle body spacer - K&n filter - Kmc Xd hoss wheels 17X9 4.5 backspace - rubbers are 275/65 17 yokahama geolander a/t's - Maxtrac 4" lift spindles - allpro standard leafsprings - 1.25 rear wheel spacers - arctic white headlights and fogs - kings coming soon - supercharger coming later
search rough country lift and specify titles only and see what you get. I used to run a spacer lift and didn't like the stiff ride. I've since gone to lift spindles in front and new leafpacks in the rear. And it rides like stock up front and soaks up the bumps better in the rear. Probably about 95% of the people on here are opposed to running spacer lifts.

Wanted to add i drive on miles of unpaved roads at speeds up to 60 mph, so i needed a setup that would be less harsh if a ride. Hence the reason i took off tge spacers.

I'm just mainly worried about the Axle wrap and any danger with the front end. I am used to high trucks and not to smooth rides. All my trucks have been diesel with lifts. Anyone else can you reflect? I looked at Toytec 3 " kits but they use the spacers too. That would lead me to the adjustable Billies.

If its a 3" lift your caster will not be correct and you will probably want to get new upper control arms to correct this. People say that your alignment will be ok but they arent taking caster into consideration...

My first lift ever was a 3" spacer lift and it rode like absolute crap. It would wander all over the highway and was very stiff. If you are wanting cheap then the cheapest I would go would be bilstein 5100's in the front for lift.

Wheelers offroad has about the best prices Ive ever seen and they are a vender on here as well

    a $25,000 truck does not deserve a $100 spacer lift ;)

I hear ya, but these aren't big heavy diesel trucks, doesn't take much for them to get bouncin around pretty crazy on large bumps and potholes at the right speed at least in my experience :p Yeah i know all about the diesel's too, my work rig is a 2012 dodge 4500 4dr with a 12' bed, its a shakey beast lol..just my .02 :)

Ha great, can anyone give me a direct link for a 3" front 2" rear lift that is well liked? I think the 3" is a perfect height addition. Thank you for all the input

884 coils for reg and ex cab is what you want, the 885 are for double cab and 886 is for double cab plus after market steal bumpers with or without winches. if you plan on adding a heavy plate bumper anytime soon i would get the 885, but if not get the 884.

Yes to the top plate spacers to achieve full 3" lift.

** SOME Tacoma models with a total of 4 leafs (3 main leafs, 1 overload) in the rear leaf pack require our TSB AAL. Please count how many leafs you have before ordering and choose from dropdown menu above **

Go out and count how many leafs "spring plates" you have on one side of your rear leafsprings. if you count 4 plates get the 1 1/2" add a leafs, if you count 3 plates get the 2" add a leafs, blocks do bad stuff don't get em :)
