The shock is what I'm looking at. Notice on the bottom the little skinny pole part? First gen shocks generally don't have that. The eyelet connects to the fat tube part itself if that makes sense.

In that case its just a matter of exchanging the shocks.

If those are the correct struts, check if your inner axle joints are seated... If they pop out you'll have a hell of a time trying to put that lower ball joint back together..

Perfect. Thanks for the help. I knew something wasn't right. Makes sense. I was worried bout the struts. I already forgot the site but it was super generic and not real vehicle specific and my original concerns were correct. Hey bill^ thanks man. The smart ass response didn't sit to well after wrestling this thing more the day. Anyone need bilsteins for a 2nd or 3rd gen? Whatever the hell they fit

I understand you're frustrated, but he was right. Your post came off as harsh (referring to people as "pricks") and yet our members still assisted you and found what was wrong.

If they bolt up top and bottom and you can't return or sell em you could try them on the lowest clip setting first and measure how much lift they give...

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
He would be much better off getting the correct parts, even if they would "fit".

As for the OP. There are lots of helpful people here, and I have seen many new guys come and go posting smart comments when asking for help. Even if you are frustrated, try to give a better description of the problem (pics always help). I have no dog in this fight, just dropping in to see what's happening, and my .02.

Edit: I went back to re-read the OP and had to lol about "3 tech savvy guys" who ordered the wrong parts. Not jabbing, just thought it was funny because so many people come on here asking questions AFTER they buy the wrong stuff. Homework is key when dealing with a truck.

Yup correct parts are always the best... Besides the first gen design looks way beefier... Skinny bottom looks like a failure point...
