Turbo down pipe is 3" but I dont really think the 3.4L warrants a 3in exhaust. Unless I upgrade the cams, internals and increase RPMs to 6-7k, I dont think its going to do any good. Should I stick with the 2.25 or do a overhaul to 2.5?

    Kind of on a budget...

Your gonna run a turbo. You want as little back pressure as possible. Less back pressure means faster spool time for you. You will want 3" pipe.

Or. Get a 3" electronic cutout to be attached right after the down pipe. Then do a 2.25 out with a nice muffler for DDing. Open the cutout for uber loud noises and faster spool for go go go fast situations.

Either. All custom no matter what...

    Welcome to turboing

That's what I figured but no first gen 3" kits... :( Ill have to do something custom... I love that electronic cutout idea, but might be too complicated and $$$ for me :p

Time to call my local fabricators...

That shit will be loud when switched over :p... I like it :D

Wait, scratch that... Its still a 3" pipe... If I can keep the stock and use this to have a secondary 3" short pipe I would be all over it... They dont make a 3" to 2.25" adapter... :notsure: Ill have to look into this a bit more...

look up some youtube vids with them. Pretty sweet really. very handy.

Your exhaust guy will have to make an adapter. shouldn't be too hard.

Ideally full 3" turbo back custom exhaust..... If on budget plumb 3" dp to oem exhaust and leave wg open to atmosphere..... this is how mine was setup and made over 420+whp and 500+wtq 16psi but was annoying loud! Will be loud as heck so you may need small muffler on wg pipe. Could also get cutout as mentioned but that loud as well, and could add muffler to this pipe as well. In short budget will be loud and if adding muffler to cutout or wg pipe to quiet down may as well went full 3" for cost you will have in it. Hope this helps.
