I would think if the report was false & malicious then you may have a case but against who? Who filed this type of case? Was is just wrong or was it malicious?

Were you arrested? If not & you were not charged why would you have your rights read to you? Just asking?

Traveler, when exactly in this process did they take fingerprints and was it on paper or some type of scanner?

Yeah poor guy is being slammed left and right by unfortunate incidents. We all took pics tonight just in case. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow too, just in case. There's no way those cuffs needed to be that tight.

See, that's why I'm confused too. Why did they take their prints and pics? Dont they usually do that when they are brought in for booking? What kind of pics can be taken in the dark on the side of the road?

Things must have changed since I was in the academy.

Prints were taken after the cuffs came off and right before we got in the cruiser to go home. Prints were on a paper that Brad "thinks" was a release to you use the photos they took of us.

Totally got you there. Some years ago my car was stolen and wrecked. The police wouldn't release the car for a week (trust me, I tried every day) because they were "conducting an investigation", yet they never went to my car at the lot it was at, never fingerprinted it, nothing. Granted I couldn't drive it anyways but that few days it sat there for ultimately no reason cost me about $250, which would have been $100 had they released it shortly after the tow.

The three of us still have marks on our wrists and our wrists are still bruised. Feeling came back after about 45 min from the cuffs being released.

    ...too much shit to list.
    What? What's why?

There's no reimbursement. The truck was impounded...meaning it goes to police impound lot for investigation...not some random tow lot. They call them and pick up the truck when it's done. It's not like he gave the cops the money to tow his truck away.

Yes it sucks and it's an inconvenience, but given the plates matched...does it really seem like that far of a stretch of the imagination that the cops made a legitimate felony stop?

I on the other hand wouldn't sign shit without reading it. That's just...dumb.

I forgot to mention, my contact lens fell out when I was detained in the cruiser. I lost it and was pretty damn blind the rest of the night. I was just exhausted and wanted to do anything to get back home.

I regret not reading it now...but I think Brad is correct in the photo release thing.

    Re-read the part in ().

I've never been an LEO, but have been on plenty of ride-a-longs with different departments. Every department does it different based on their work load. My ride-a-longs in Commifornia were by far the most disappointing.

Ok, I was trying to figure out if they ran DOJ's on all of you, with prints that can take about 45 minutes. But the never took you in, fuck, they knew who you guys were ten minutes after they ran you, they knew they had nothing fifteen minutes after they ran you. If they had anything they would have just thrown you all in county jail and waited for someone else to figure it out, the detective story is a lie, they had nothing and they knew it. Sorry bout that man. They gonna dick with the truck but IDK why they need to, if I was Brad, I'd be down there hollerin for my fucking truck back, If i ain't bein charged with a crime, I'd be hot and pissed and bugging the shit out of the cops. They had nothing but didn't do the right thing and back out of it gracefully, fucking jerks.

+1 Consult with the lawyer, and have him FOIA everything. You can get a lot of information from a FOIA.

There have been many stories in the media lately about dirty cops intimidating "suspects" into falsely confessing to a crime, and then spending time in prison. Cops can't be trusted. Seek legal counsel ASAP.

Instead of turning this into a political thread, how about you guys just refer to it as the actual name of the state....California, or CA for short.
I'm glad I moved out of the state but to those that actually live there...you guys are just being insulting assholes.
