Are you implying that I'm falsifying my story to receive some sort of praise for what I went through?

I didn't see it as that. I saw it that the cops were thinking one thing (that you guys were the robbers) and what happened to you guys (not being the robbers) was a different thing.

The point being that we don't really know what the cops were thinking due to the info they were given in regards to the crime.

There is two sides to every story and different points of view. If you were a police officer you would know why they did what they did. Just trying to change people's way of thinking, to see it from the other side so to speak.

I see why your pissed and I can also see that the LEO's acted appropriately...

no information that brad was involved until they check the truck, interview whitnesses/Brad, and process the crime scene.

OK look...I want to make something very clear here.

I didn't make this thread for legal advice, or praise, or to be troll to cops, or anything like that.

I made it to ask the TW LEO's if they thought there was anything fishy about the way things went down. I've NEVER been in any trouble at all like this, (the worst crime I ever committed was doing 68 in a 55 zone) so I'm just wondering if what happened was SUPPOSED to happen. Even though I don't particularly agree with the way it was handled, I respect that it was handled according to the laws of conducting a felony stop.

Anything after that is just gravy. I still have unanswered questions, and I hope to get some answers soon.

That situation sucks and its no fun to be on the other end of the gun when you find out those people weren't the scumbags you were looking for. The officers went off a description a witness gave, any error in the description or coincidental likeness to the vehicle/persons in it is not on them.

The situation sucks, but it is the price we pay as a society to have law and order. Sometimes innocent people are inconvenienced.

Handcuffs are very uncomfortable when put on properly, but they shouldn't cause physical injury, numbness, or discoloration. Most bad guys complain constantly about the cuffs, if not to test you out and see if you're a good potential victim to fight later on when the cuffs come off, then just to be a pain in the ass. FWIW, upon discovering you weren't the guys they were looking for, the cuffs should come off ASAP.

But didnt the crime happen in 2012? Would it have been processed already? And since no Miranda was read, that means he wasn't interviewed?

    I'm getting confused again. :(

Fucking cops, then they expect that you just seat there and be calm. i would go nuts if they have me restricted in tight cuffs and treating me like shit when i know I didn't do anything.
I was involved in something like this but they didn't get that far, they pointed guns at me and screamed like crazy" turn it off" "put you hands up". They don't understand that when they scream at you like that from all different directions you get confused and scared, and it's very difficult to follow orders when you have several guys screaming at you all at once.
After that incident, I lost a little bit of respect for the police!

I hope your friend gets out of this mess.. Also get a lawyer!

sure. but OP never said anything about anyone identiifying or giving a description of Brad. So, all they have is the info on the truck. legality of the situation is, as you stated previously, someone else could have been driving it. information they wont know until they finish the investigation. which could take some time.

I should think so...another unanswered question. Why hadn't they busted down his front door immediately after getting the plate and description. It was a 100% match.

Sounds legit to me. They kept the truck cause it might have been borrowed or stolen. So to them, it's still deemed as potential evidence regardless of whether you guys participated or not. Second, you have any idea how many times they get people telling them the cuffs are too tight so they can get them loosened and get out of them?

Third, don't test the fucking police by doing a last minute ditch regardless of how safe or legal it is. All it does is make you look shifty as fuck and give them even more cause to pull your ass over. If you haven't done anything wrong, why would you go and make it look like you have? For all you know, they're staging up to get the guy in front of you without him seeing.

If they had a full plate match Matt, they would have kicked in his door last year.

What questions do you have exactly?

A lot of these posts in here are making me mad cuz some people sweet that no matter what the situation it'd always he cops fault and sue them and cops are trustworthy and fuck the police and all this other BULLSHIT! People are fucking stupid and need to take a dam chill pill. I'd love for all of these people that are bitching and whinning to go strap on a duty belt and badge and go on patrol for 1 day. Then make a felony traffic stop. Once they read the massive amounts of dept. Policies and have a great understanding of civil rights then is like to see if they make the same statements again.

People watch an episode of cops and suddenly become experts on the dam situation. :annoyed:

Not bashing you at all Matt, glad you are asking questions and looking for simple answers instead of jumping to conclusion like all the other BS in this thread. Let me know if I can help. GL
