I'm pretty sure the majority of tacos don't have issued either. What's your point. If you actually read the recall list of previous Tacomas maybe you're opinion will change.

As for the people that don't own 3rd gens and haven't driven either, but use Tacoma world, a place for people to aggregate problems they have, as a reliable source of opinion.....LOL.

I think it is me pushing on the pedal harder than I did with previous vehicles.

I just watched this the other night! Pretty cool video if you haven't already seen it before on the birth of the Raptor. I always love Baja racing stuff.

Refreshing to hear someone with an untainted perspective on the Tacoma. I love the idea of the raptor, but for me its way too big. I prefer smaller, more maneuverable vehicles. I too consider the Tacoma to be a mini raptor of sorts. Yes i know the ZR2 is just around the corner and yes i know it can be had with a diesel, but i dont like the looks and i believe the Tacoma is a better long term vehicle.

That was pretty cool. That truck is pretty awesome. Not my thing. Makes you wonder though, with this higher revving engine in the 3rds I wonder what would happen if you put a long travel on it and ran it like hell?
Not my thing, but would be fun for someone.
Thing about the raptor, it wouldn't be very good at doing what I like to do. My Taco is awesome though.

Awesome Review!! It's totally true on the Truck addapting to the Driver, I Tow a Landscape Trailer every day since my Truck was new, Hauling the Trailer requires much more throttle of course so now at 15,000 miles later without the Trailer my Truck runs like it's in ECT mode all the time... I was at Toyota for my oil change last week and when the Mechanic handed me my keys and said he was surprised at the throttle response of my truck and he wanted to no what I did to it lol!! So my Advice to everyone is Drive it like you stole it!!

I approve of the original post. I love my 2016 off road and I love old school japanes sports cars. My st185 gt four is silently waiting in the garage to be restored.

If you survive the crash you can look forward to finally getting a new truck, so there's that.

Perhaps I need to clarify. Yes, in that if you have a problem you post here and look for solutions. That's why it seems the truck has a ton of problems, because people with problems tend to post a lot more than 100 percent satisfied people. Does this make it clearer?

    A few things
Funny thing about the small cars, I have and used to daily drive an R53 MINI. I work in construction and would catch crap a lot for driving a "chick car". But those same guys would see me at my car getting ready or undressed after work and quietly ask how much fun is it to drive it?

So i just took my tacoma on its first longish trip, 1.5 hours up to spokane. And I just dont see why everyone is complaining about the shift points on the tranny. My route consisted of long flat streches as well as hills, and i never felt like it was hunting for gears. Yes, it has a tall 6th gear and so when climbing up a steep grade or passing someone on the freeway it downshifts. yes, when driving on surface streets is keeps itself in a higher gear/low rpm for fuel economy. I give it some more pedal it sees i want more power, it quickly shifts into its powerband and gives me what i ask for. Perhaps my 2017 has a better gear selection algorithm than the 2016s did. perhaps im just used to the 8 speed auto on my wifes dodge durango, which definitely feels like its constantly hunting, but i figure its got all those gears might as well use them to get the best mpg.

The engine is from a lexus SUV, has been great for the past two years in that so no worries there.
the other bold part is right on. I'm happy about the recall. Recalls are simple to get done as long as you're effected. TSBs can be difficult if you have any mods as dealer might try and point to those to get out of doing it.
