in town driving with about 100lbs or more in the back with no shocks is no big deal. you should not do it on the highway though.

Okay, if this isn't the first time then why haven't you pointed it out before? Didn't say it as fact, said it per experience from knowing others that have done it without issues.

 

Never said I had personal experience from it, I only know others that have done it before with no issues. And not just people on TW, local people in New Mexico.

If it came across that I have done it and have driven at every speed possible in a Tacoma while turning, that was not my intention.

Not just from what I have read online, but from what other's locally have done and said as well. I just figured that if people I have talked face to face with as well as people online have done it safely, why should I think it would be any different for him. Technically, just from one person having good/bad experience with it doesn't make it safe/unsafe. It's all from other's experience.

 

No worries, I would be angry to if I had gotten a full mid-travel setup installed just to find out there's issues with something as expensive as those shocks! Hope it all gets figured out and you don't come out with too much of a loss...

 

Honestly I would bust a bitch in the face if I was told parts work together and they didn't. That being said, most of the time its operator error on my end and I look the fool.

 

It's a lot of time and money wasted but sometimes you take a chance and either score one for the home team or strike out. It happens. Don't get too worked up, the best thing you can do now is document the issues and now pass on your info to others who are wrong or don't know.

 

Eh, I drove without shocks for a whole while I was finding some replacemt parts haha. Was fine, just bounced a lot more.

But I dig the little reality check there haha.


Side note, I can basicially parallel park the truck like a boss now. Usually get into the spot in one shot. Only when it's really close do I do a 3 pointer

That's the problem with suspension though, it seems like no matter what nobody has the same issues or experiences.

Also monte note that the shocks IMMEDIETLY seized after taking them off.

 

Eff that! If you can make some coin selling the shocks do it! That's life man.

 

I laugh at the fools who can't parallel a sedan first try. A full size crew cab is easy for me now. But it takes some practice and good judgement.

 

Reminds me of a friend of mine who bought a brand new 2013 crew cab Silverado. First truck she's ever owned and could never park straight the first time, and she would always attempt to back into parking spots which was even worse!

It was funny when I would be driving it because she would get mad every time I parked because it was easier for me. But if you put me in a car I can't remember how to park one correctly to save my life haha
