I'd agree with this.. its really easy to say

"Man I have a shit ton of homework to do but GTA/TW/a party/a nap/etc are calling my name"

That's my problem now.. I haven't been able to focus enough on school so I'm always in a time crunch to get stuff done

The best advice my father gave me was to do my homework RIGHT after class was done. Head to either the computer lab or the library to transcribe your notes for the class (yes, rewrite them in a more organized fashion and highlight them) and do your homework then as well.

Re-writing the notes helps engrain them further and if you do your homework right away, the rest of the night is now yours. Time management is extremely hard, but the hardest part for me was the pace at which the classes move. The teachers really don't care if you are struggling, and the class NEVER slows down for the slowest student like high school. If you don't understand a concept taught in class, you either have to go to office hours to get it explained again, or read the book until you get a grasp.

Yeah I know I should be I just enjoy being lazy when it comes to school..

And no offense but good. I understand it sucks when you get left behind but by slowing the class down you slow down all the students. I go talk to my teachers for help as well but I'd rather do that than not learn the things I need for the next class. I've had too many college classes where my teacher goes on rants and doesn't actually teach for several classes and then I don't learn what I need to and I'm behind in my next class. It was fine in high school because every teacher taught the same way but in college they develop their own curriculum so if you fall behind in a prerequisite class the next teacher doesn't care.

    Sorry /rant

You could join the army, get married, or just wait till your 23 then they count you as an independent.

Yeah it is bullshit when the professors push their own personal agenda or go on long winded rants that have nothing to do with the material you are paying to learn.

It took me almost failing out my freshman year to really turn my shit around and study my ass off. I started acting like it was a full time job and it really paid off. The stupid part is that most companies don't care where you went to school or what your GPA was. Only your experience and what you bring to the table matter.

I'm right there with you.. I fucked up my freshman year really bad and its taken me until now to get to a 3.0.. even if I get straight 4.0s the highest grade I could get is less than a 3.4. And yup, idk how many companies that don't give 2 shits about your GPA even if their ad says has to be over a 3.0

Working a full time job, paying for it, and getting good grades while attending college.... Shit would be easier if my parents paid for my college, but they can't.
