Funds are tight right now, military owes me $300 in back-pay right now. It costs me $250 to drive home, which I am doing Thursday and sometime in June. And I've got to pay $300 to go to church camp this summer, and then I'm going to get in on the Elite bumper group buy. So my money is pretty much spoken for right now.... Haha

Dammit, I don't want to be a dick but... Cool story bro! :D
My design has a fair amount of plate and the receiver part is included so that adds probably 30 lbs alone.

Well it looks like an aluminum rear bumper is probably out of the equation. I can't make the hitch steel and the rest aluminum without bolting it together (ghey), and an aluminum hitch is not DOT approved if I need to tow. I may be able to reuse my factory hitch if I really want aluminum.

Just get/build something like a Hidden Hitch, then build your bumper out of whatever.
IIRC, the bumper and hitch mounts don't touch but I'm not 100% sure

^I'm not a fan of how low that hitch sits in relation to the rear bumper. That's why I wanted to integrate it right in with the bumper. Aluminum was pretty low on the priority list, so now it's easier to drop it I guess.

I'll measure my factory hitch and figure out if I think it will work though. Just for shits and giggles.

As I expected, the top of the factory hitch tube sits about 8" down from the top of the bumper. My bumper design is only 6.5" tall, so I would have a 1.5" gap.
