If you buy it online and pick up in store you save another $5. Not much but it helps since they are about $175 still.

 

Group 34. It will have terminals on the wrong side so you will need to make some jumper connections. My 3rd gen 4runner is the same and I'm going with a 34. A 34R would be the correct battery since the terminals are reversed but you can't get them in diehard platinum.

 

Go with the 34 then. 800+ CCAs compared to the stock 650.

my personal opinion is that Die hards are shitty batteries.. i can get an optima for $180

A diehard platinum is an Odyssey. You must be out of the battery scene if you think Optimas are still good. They moved to Mexico and the quality left with them.

My duralast gold is going strong. It's only 3 years old but it's been good down to temps of -15F

 

There is a cheap optima and a good optima you can tell by the part #..
Can that die hard platinum be mounded upside down??? What i have found is the high quality optimas that fail early do so due to people not properly maintaing them I have two in my tacoma one is 6 years old and the other is almost 4 years old i have no issues with them at all..

 

I'lladd though that i was talking about the lower end die hards being shit and thats all i see in my shop people want to be cheap and honestly if i was going to be cheap i would be cheap with a different brand but if im gonna pay 175 for a battery im just gonna get a gel cell and be done with it. i havent had good luck with non gel cell's with the way I wheel.. so yeah im hating on die hards but just because of my own personal experiance with them and the way i wheel everyone is different so if it makes you happy and works for you then rock it.

 

A diehard platinum is AGM... Just stop.
