Cummins is a great engine but the truck around it is a pos, Chevys arnt bad but the duramax has a lot of injector issues also problems with warping heads, there transmission is junk and ifs on a 3/4 ton is fucking stupid. Fords have there problems but the 7.3 is a wonderful motor the stock trans is actually pretty good and the truck actually holds up

So would it be worth getting a truck to haul my tacoma once a year or get a car?
Either one will have more seats than my current setup

Hahaha what he is saying is don't have the capability of pulling a cab off a truck, have a torque wrench that goes to 215 ft lbs then a 6.0 isn't for you lol

The 7.3 is bulletproof, the trans (auto) stood up to the abuse we gave it, we sold our '99 f-250 (4x4 auto 7.3) at 150k miles, drove it to MS ~10 times (over 20k highway miles) never had a issue with just driving, and it towed a CAT d-5g on a 3 axle gooseneck trailer (with no brakes) just fine.
We sold it to get a 05 with the 6.0 (big mistake, gonna swap in a cummins if she blows), but the trans finally went out when the guy we sold it to tried backing a really heavy (i don't know numbers but dad said he had no business towing something that heavy with that truck) trailer up a hill in 2-hi.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Lies. My dad 6.4 will get about 11-12 mph daily driving. Put our 18 foot trailer behind with a tractor and it'll get 17 all day long Haha

We were told it had brakes when we picked it up, but rats had chewed through the wiring.
We only towed it 30 miles with no brakes.

Ya you have to pull the cab off the truck to access the motor. The 6.0 has bad head studs so you have to replace them with ARP head studs and torque them to 215 fl lbs
