    ya i’d say it’s because of the cold. i did a little touch up on my rear bumper when it was plasti dipped and did not have that problem. i did 2 coats and you could not tell i touched it up. that was in the summer so it was warm/hot.


    edit. i’d get the garage to around 50 or 60 if you can, or as warm as you can.

    it takes longer to dry/set-up in the cold.. but, it will; your only other challenge is getting the plastidip up to temp so it actually sprays right

    I plastdipped a spot on my truck the other day when it was about 19 degrees...
    I had the truck running and kept the can on top of the pull out cup holder on the center console and had the heat blowing on it, inbetween coats
    That did the trick

    well pisses. i didnt have this issue when I did the wheels over the summer. i almost cant lay it on any lighter. it just runs down the surface of the wheel. im surprised you could do it in 20 degrees! wtf

    no it just has a light textured to it. i have done it in 90+ and had it give a light texture, so thats not from the cold at all.

    im going to put the can down my pants right in my crotch (warmest part of your body) to get it to the right temp before painting. thanks for the suggestion, good plan

    Hmm, seems to have more texture when letting it set in the cold than when warm for me :notsure:

    It definately has way more texture when you're spraying it cold
    But, if you heat it up and spray, letting it set in the cold won't change the texture

    ...at least that was my experience

    Ouch, one of those nights huh? :rolleyes:

    Trying to get rid of as much of my plastidip as possible. I have it on the bumpers and emblems and that's it. Want to bedline my rear bumper some day.

    Exactly what my bumpers look like. But my emblems are more smooth, but I did those in about 80 degree weather.
