I was planning $1000 in gas. I only make about $450 a month working and $375 a month for rent.

It's all in keeping a tight budget. I have $6200 in my college fund, but $5200 goes to next semester. The rest will go to living expenses along with my pay checks. I don't take out loans. Before I sold my truck I had less than enough money to make rent. Sold it and bought a $2800 4runner so I have spending money and some money in the bank in case.

The way I do it though is I rarely buy beer or expensive food. Eat cheap and don't drink and you can get by pretty easily. $1 a dozen eggs and 75 cents for some hot dogs makes cheap meals. I only buy beef when it's $2.50 per lb or less. Shit like that gets me by.

Somehow my bank gave me a $6000 credit limit on my credit card. I always get it paid off, though, since I don't spend money unless I know I have it.

im all for budgeting but that sounds like it sucks, ha.

luckily i didnt have any loans.

but i was making 1200 a month approx spending 300-400 in rent then car payment and insurance which was another 500, the rest went to food (got free food every shift i worked though) and going out to have fun/relax (which is definitely necessary when in college), i never saved much but i wasnt hurting at all.

but to each their own

I make it work. I like my easy part time job more than the desire to make more money and work all day while in school.

I made 500 per month in college. Rent was 225 and the rest went to insurance/phone/ etc. I paid cash for my truck so no payment there. Still had enough for the occasional 30 rack of coors light lol.

I used to donate plasma for another $60 a week, but the last couple months have been too busy to get back there. But that's my grocery and gas money. Forgot about that.
