Nope still no armor. I want to supercharge it first. But I needed a lot of work done, head gasket, a new front axel, rear axel seals, a new radiator, spark plugs, wires, and the 90k service. Plus what ever else was on the list I forget everything. But either way motor wise it should be a new motor.

Yes I do, hopefully the Desmond get worked out. Me and 4runner have bad luck

 

What I don't understand is why 4Runners have that happen often but you rarely ever see it happen on a Tacoma even though they're the same.

 

The 5 speeds don't have that problem.

 

I see more supercharged runners than I do tacomas.

I bought this one because it had low miles but the previous owner did zero maintainance so I was stuck doing it all. But I knew I was going to have to drop te money. But it's better than another car payment at this time.

 

It's not caused my superchargers, it's just amplified.

 

That's what I was getting at. Which is why I did all of it pre supercharger.

 

Pcbuilder is wondering why the 4runners get the strawberry milkshake, but not Tacomas.

The transmission cooler section inside the radiator breaks and mixes ATF with coolant. Wrecks your engine and trans.

Good for people looking for parts since they all end up in the salvage yard. There are a few around here.

 

I remember the look that a friend with a 4runner gave me when I said I had no clue what he was talking about. I should probably do it though, can't hurt that's for sure

 

There's really no way to know when it's going to break. It just goes and you are done for.

 

Yup, I've got a bunch of maintenance to do so I might throw that in there.

so why does it only happen to 4Rs? my buddy put in an aux trans cooler to prevent just that. ive never even been warned about it with the truck, untill he told me

 

I'm not really sure. Tacomas and 4runners have different part numbers for radiators, so maybe there's a difference.
