    I like aluminum wheels for the lighter weight but I'd rather bend a steel wheel and limp my truck home than straight break an aluminum wheel.

    Haha yeah, I've seen some aluminum wheels get eaten up. Makes me glad I have steel.
    Haha yeah, too bad DOT beadlocks are insanely expensive!

    I'm glad to have steel, I've taken some chunks out of them right next to the bead haha

    I've given up on trying to save weight. Just regear and hope for the best... :eek:

    I thought the same thing too. Until I heard all of the stories about people getting pulled over countless times in New Mexico for running those fake beadlocks I posted. The cops would try to give them a ticket and they would have to show them that it isn't a true beadlock.

    I'm really hoping to regear sometime this year, but we'll see...

    Uhm, nope?

    I've always planned to regear. It wasn't too bad until Winter set in and I got the bumper. I would get at least 20 on the highway last Summer out here. Right now I'm getting about 16 on the highway.

    My average mpg is terrible right now since 99% of my driving is less than a mile at a time so it never warms up, so my average is 14mpg, although I drive 20 miles a week most of the time.

    Yup, because I did haha 60-70mph and not pushing down the throttle on hills to keep speed gives pretty good results. I didn't ALWAYS mention it, I just would say it when people said it's impossible. Just because trucks have the same motor doesn't necessarily mean everything runs exactly the same.

    Haha yeah, but it will for off roading or camping trips.
