It really is. More than usual

 

Did some awesome wheeling today with some local guys I met through TW. We ran some fire roads for a bit, explored an old abandoned gold mine, and wheeled in the river bed before ending the day with some target shooting. My buddy and I also took our DH MTBs and did some freeriding. I took some really cool pics also. Fun day! Did everything in my stock Taco too!

Friend of mine is leaving Afghanistan, and somebody asks where he's going. So my friend says OPSEC buddy. Then the guy asks what that is and if he's even leaving Afghanistan now.

I give him a quick definition of what OPSEC is and give him an example of what bad OPSEC causes. Then he argues that NCO's post pics of where they're going all of the time.

At this point I realize this idiot is in the military as well. So I tell him that just because people do it doesn't mean they should and that he should know this since he's in the Army.

Then he says that he knows already, he was just asking. Evidently you didn't know idiot since you mentioned a place that people travel to in-route from Afghanistan!

 

It's crazy how much opsec gets overlooked on fb

if it's not some e3 trying to get pre-dep attention, it's family members posting
"I'll miss my bro! He leaves for Afghanistan today at 3:50 from HNL with his unit XXXXXX for 8 months!"



When I was with the ROTC we couldn't even post what we had planned for PT the next morning haha

 

Yeah, it's kind of scary...

Seen a few of those haha I have to be careful what I post on here, but so far the only stuff I say publicly is very basic.

having taken auto mechanics classes and collision repair and finishing both. id recommend just getting a job in a shop somewhere and doing all the training on the job just read the auto books...and work on getting a regular bachelors from a school near you

 

I learned everything I know from retardedly working on the truck alone and eventually fucking everything up before learning how to put it back together

 

Well my parents are making me do school, so i'm taking a class i can learn something useful in, but if it were me i'd get a job at a shop like you said.

When we move to MS this summer i'll be going to a school that has auto body classes, so i'll be taking those also, but experience beats all IMO.

I was lucky enough to work at a auto body shop in VA for a month last year, had a blast and learned a lot, and i'm hoping i can work for him again this year after we move.

 

it took me a week to do my fucking mt swap.

it should have taken 5 hours max.

It took me 6 hours to disassemble my struts, disassemble another pair of struts, then put my coils on the shocks from the other pair of struts.

 

That's why I bought all new stuff for my leaf springs so I can just cut all of it off when they time comes! Haha

I'm really getting tired of seeing my Expos in the corner every day... If I get my shocks in time I'm hoping next weekend I'll be able to do it.
