Nice. I don't feel like pulling apart the headlights on my company truck. HIDs will give me enough light over the stock halogens and I think the stock headlights look just fine.

And safer for other drivers that don't want to be blinded because you put HIDs in your stock housing.

You re-aim the headlights after you install them. Shouldn't be a problem after that. And install the bulbs correctly to begin with. There is a correct/incorrect way to install them.

 

Blinding other drivers puts the odds of someone veering into your lane WAY up. But as long as you can see that's all that matters.

I used to run HIDs in my reflector housing. didn't matter how you aimed them. light still shoots everywhere. reflector housings with long HID arcs make "hotspots" that shoot randomly out of the reflector

I had my h4's installed with a hi/lo glare shield, still shot everywhere

before I was running my projectors

looked like I was shooting lightsabres out of my headlights

that fucking sucked. almost drove off a 300 foot cliff cause we couldn't see SHIT

 

And to re-aim them low enough to be safe, you won't get any better output, so what's the point?

What HIDs were you using? The ones I bought from here on TW are from a reputable seller and everyone who has purchased them has nothing but good things to say about them. We'll see what happens. Like I said, I'm not pulling apart the headlights on my company truck.

As for the second part, you sound like you need Tinder. Get on it son.

 

Doesn't matter what type you use, they're still going to throw hot spots since they're made for projectors, not halogen reflector bulbs. Even TRS, which is probably the best quality you can get, doesn't recommend that you use them in halogen bulbs.

Then buy another set of headlights, or you can just throw hids in there and make it more likely for somebody to wreck into you, Guess it's up to you in the end but we're trying to help.

 

Vehicles that come with HIDs from the factory are blinding anyway; and more and more vehicles are coming stock with HIDs or projectors. Shouldn't be anything people on the road haven't seen before. I won't be aiming them as low as you're saying either.

 

They're blindingly bright, but that's okay because they're using projectors. That's what the cutoff is for, to make it shine only up to a certain height.

Please find me a vehicle that is running HID's from the factory in halogen housings.

Then you won't be aiming them low enough to keep from blinding others.

 

I appreciate the help, really I do. It's just that so many people have done the HID conversion and I've heard little negative feedback about it that I'm not too worried about it.
If it does end up being a problem, I'll be the first person to tell you that you were right and it didn't work out for me. Assuming I'm still alive if someone wrecks into me.

I suggest you do more research and you'll find how many people don't recommend it.

 

I have a cut off too. There is a definitive line at the top of my headlight pattern.

 

You get feedback from people that are using the lights. Not seeing them from another car. The blue-ish HID's give me headaches and messes with my vision. Even being in a vehicle with em kinda messes with my vision
