30 and younger thread

unless you live places with great local brews. I'm fortunate enough to live in the state with my fav micro brew. Breckenridge is a close second, but I haven't noticed it in world market

Yeah pretty much every LQ store In co is massive and carries everything. We are lucky here to have almost everything local, I mean I did move because my favorite brewery is in ft Collins.

 

My children will never go to a school that teaches a class that shows animals, or teaches to raise animals or farm.

 

We don't have a ton of liquor stores here, no point when you can buy liquor at gas stations

 

??? She's in college and gets to pick what classes she goes too.


Why not farm you don't want your children to know what hard work is? Or where th food they are eating comes from. I grew up farming all through college it's not for the lazy that's for sure.

I don't think it's a bad thing to learn, but it's not something a high school should teach. It's like teaching coal mining in west virginia high schools. It should not be done.

 

Yeah I grew up on the east coast. Nothing like the LQ stores we have here that have just about anything you could ever want in a warehouse size building.

 

This is kind of an ignorant statement. You seem to be saying this like farms and farm animals are bad.

Okay I retract my last statement, but with this being said the instructors shouldn't push their political views on children... but they do...

 

someone else mentioned high school. College is fine, people choose careers in ag. But it shouldn't be a high school course. Learn to farm at home on your farm, learn the tools you need to leave the farm in school so a kids who wants to leave actually has a chance.

 

electives are electives for a reason
"should" is 100% subjective

 

I was in ag classes in high school. I also had a fishing class and a handy man class all were fun and worth it. For the fishing class we would take the special education kids outside and teach them how to fish and stuff a couple times a semester and also learned a lot about aquatic science

 

I wish my school had cool electives.

 

I don't disagree with you there. I thought you were bashing on Lauren for doing what she wants in college. I had to support my local TW girl.

Although if my daughter wanted to get into the FFA stuff in high school I would care if she did.

 

Then how about this. In my experience, schools that offer those classes are lesser schools. It's been true every where I have lived.

Oh it was great but I took these class's because I only had two class's my senior year. I am also friends with the teachers for those class's. I drink beer with both of my ag teachers regularly
