To be honest if I was your room mate you could give me that blonde and I'd still be pissed if you brought that kind of dog home. Everyone that I have know has done nothing but get into everything and bark constantly. My buddies eats everything and has had to have two surgeries to remove things that cost about 3k a piece. We call him the ass hole. They had to put a dead bolt on their pantry because of that dog. Trust me I'm a dog lover I have two but that breed grinds my gears.

Yeah their dog does not get to do much. But he is also 9 so he really does not want to. I'm also not a small dog fan though. My dogs gotta be able to keep up with me while I'm mtn biking and back country skiing that's pretty much my criteria. :)

The 4 feet of snow I ski in would stop a beagle. My dogs run circles around all my buddies beagles but I have a high strung lab and a very high strung pointer. I can't out run my pointer on skis, or my bike within like 10 seconds of me stopping she is right there. The beagles do like to chase critters though. But I hunt with both my mutts and they do great but again they are hunting dogs and my pointer is from a gun dog breeder.

I think if you were able to keep a Beagle entertained you would have no problem with a GSP. I Say that with confidence, I let mine run in a field on a daily basis but if I skip a few days she's fine as long as I'm giving her attention. But I do run both my dogs a lot. And I take them everywhere with me. And mine would be content if she never hunted again, she is the best family dog. She is protective over my wife and daughter. She is a better family dog than my lab. He just wants to chill with me 100% of the time so he gets depressed when I go to work for my two days haha.
