So.... I need to find a way to get out of an employment contract

Long story short, my advisor fucked me. Told me this internship I really wanted wouldn't count towards my course requirements and 2 days after I sign with someone else he tells me they have approved the other internship

 

I would tough it out. With the amount of net-working going around, its pretty easy for people so mention a name and have someone else say "oh yeah, he signed up with us/someone and bailed out a week later."

What's the difference between the two?

 

One is just a summer internship with a recent start up, the other could have a huge impact on the opportunities available to me upon graduation

 

Thats a tough call. What happens if you get out of the current one and the other one closes? or you don't get it?

I am not calling you out, but a whole lot of people our age are worried about sinking the first job a little too much.

As long as you get your stuff done, you will have countless opportunities.

thats huge, size of the company is huge. if you want a safe way to launch your career from the get go, the bigger the company the better usually. sorry, usually how it works.

i cant believe youre in a binding contract...inform them its interfering with your education and audios if you have another position lined up

This! Do the one that will impact your the most. My buddies kid just got a 2 year contract with the biggest finincal firm in NY. They told him he will have zero life for two years but if he can make it through and preform well he will be set for the rest of his life. He was just out here visiting before he started, I said two years is a short period of time when it comes to the rest of your life. He had other offers but as stated above start bigger and it normally pays off. Weed out the sheep and become the biggest wolf.

Lol im looking at new cars for the gf and the sales lady is terrible.. she was telling us about the engine and her selling point was that none of the wires touched and they were all wrapped. Then shes taking us on a test drive and she backs up over a curve..

 

When I was shopping for a new car in order to try and save the sale, the guy brought out those disgusting really thin circle grain cracker/cookie things.

He was like "these are horrible cookies, do you guys want some?"

 

Lol this lady is ridiculous.. we went on a test drive and she asked me how to get back to the dealership.
