Just our luck, at least we have a pro that'll help us for free.

The turbo timer will be useful so we don't have to sit in the truck waiting for it to cool down, and the remote start will be for the Mississippi summers.

 

Turbo timers are pretty damn easy. There's an apexi unit that works well and is pretty slim with adjustable time features. Just a few wires to tap. It's been a few years though. Sometimes they do have issues with alarms/electronic lock systems.

I had a viper alarm on my 240 that it would unlock the doors after the timer finished. (Not sure why and never bothered me too much)

Are there any systems that are "all in one"?

 

I believe viper does, but honestly after dealing with diesels just wait 30 seconds after driving and it's good, even cruising at a low speed tends to be enough for a cool down

 

Ok, viper is expensive isn't it?


Not for the 6.0, that's how we lost the 4 turbos, we only let it sit about a minute after running it, ever since the mechanic told dad to it idle for 3 minutes after we run it (5 minutes if we've been towing or been above 10 LBS of boost) we haven't had any issues with the turbo's.

 

Did y'all upgrade to a powermax? Iv never heard of someone blowing the turbo

Nope, stock everything except a 4'' turbo back exhaust.
The turbo warped and blew the oil seals, old timer at the ford dealership told Dad to let it idle after they put the last turbo in (~40k miles ago)
