    As long as it's in front if the radiator the inter cooler won't loose efficiency and the tstat will take care of keeping the engine good. Install big electric fans if you have problems.

    Had the setup on my 240 with no issues. Most people call it a midmount. Keeps it off the ground, lots of airflow and shorter piping. Never had any overheating issues

    Yeah I more meant the radiator loosing some efficiency. Plus I think it'd be badass to have the intercooler down there and you'd see the shiny charge piping poking out behind it. Like everyone said, I'm sure it's fine up there. It was just a thought I had

    In other news I experienced my first tank slapper today... good thing it was on the way home for lunch and I was able to change pants when I got there haha

    Your radiator already isn't in front. the first "radiator" is for your AC. behind that is the radiator for the engine. putting an intercooler in front won't change anything.

    The A/C and radiator was all designed together though... Now I'm going and mucking around in something some poor engineer at Toyota spent all kinds of time figuring out.

    i finally dropped my radiator after the first 5 years of wheeling the truck. there was not a single gap between any two fins that wasn't caked full of dirt/dried mud. after hoseing the entire thing down for a good half hour, my entire 4 car driveway was covered in mud. our cooling systems are nicely overbuilt for the vast majority of people who will ever own a tacoma. look at torspd's build if you are curious, after years of running various turbo/intercooler setups, it was only a couple of months ago that he got an aftermarket radiator, and that was just because his new engine is almost done being built.
