Love my inverter, just played a mission in COD and it kept the battery maintained and charged it 3%.

I wanted to go with a 500 or 750 watt inverter, but we had this one laying around, and I don't really need one with that wattage at this point (Not sure if I'll ever need one that big anyway).

 

Ah, cool...

I was wanting to get a 1,000 watt. Doubt I'll ever need one that powerful. But just in case. Really just need one to charge phone, cameras, laptop, and run lights for now.

Trying to decide whether or not to buy a bunch of camping gear next or buy an Elite if I can.... I need to get skids next off road wise, but don't want to do that until I get a bumper I plan to keep.

But I'd like to start camping every other weekend or so since I have the tent.

 

Sounds like you need camping gear to me. Do you wheel enough regularly to buy skids before camping gear? Most camping areas don't require skids to reach (my experience at least).





On a separate note, I was watching a program about UFO sightings and alien abductions, and footage from the Mexican Air Force was shown. Both my fiance and I were like WTF Mexico has an Air Force??!! haha

True. Right now I'd do more camping than off roading where I live. But, last time I went off roading without skids I was very hesitant on what I would actually do for that reason. Even having the stock skids was better than none at all. I think I just need to try to find a happy medium.

 

Don't be scared. I've ran all sorts of stuff with my truck and I'm still running stock skids.

 

I have stock skids and I think we all know how I wheel, and i have had zero problems so far. But its next on my list. Idaho is a rocky abusive place.

 

Only thing i worry about is the exhaust and giant plastic gas tank :/ or ripping off a fuel or break line....

Only skid i think i'll want is a gas tank skid.

 

I realized that toyota was high when they designed the exhaust on 2nd gens...and armor maufacturers were even higher when they made the 2nd gen skids go AROUND the low hanging exhaust instead of re routing it. That stupid all pro skid that mike had got him hung up on everything, because he hit the part sticking down that is supposed to protect the exhaust pipe.


my 1st gen also came with a factory metal gas tank...because toyota still knew what they were doing back then

hell no. i want to custom make mine to ensure i lose as little clearance as possible. 3/16th with reinforcement...its not super thick but i dont need it to be

 

You guys do realize I'm not running stock skids anymore, right? Haha

That's why I would like skids. Ran my 96 hard with no skids and don't see how I didn't mess something up.

Just seeing my diff so open on my 03 scares me. Like I said, last time I went wheeling I was bore because I was trying to be too careful being at a new place. Beforehand I'd just go until I could hear the rocks bending my stock skids...
