    If it's anything like my moms Jeep...the only way it will unlock is if you touch the inside of the doorhandle and you're holding the key. It doesn't unlock when you get near it. And if you walk away with the key it stays running but it yells at you that the key isn't nearby lol

    It gets a bit annoying when say, I'm like "oh crap mom, I forgot something in the car" and she's only 10 feet away but I can't open it, she has to touch it lol

    I either leave the key fob in my pocket, on my key chain attached to a belt loop, or there's a little spot next to the 12V plug where I put it.

    The fob allows the car to be unlocked when close but doesn't unlock it itself, at least with my FiST. There's little buttons on the front driver and passenger doors that lock/unlock the car when the fob is close enough. The fob also has the traditional lock/unlock buttons on it.

    If the car is running and you get far enough away with the fob yes, the car will shot off.
