    Front engine/rear drive allows for more even weight distribution, which improves handling.

    It also allows the rear end to slide more. Every sports car I have driven that was mid engine or rear has been way more impressive in handling

    Luckily for me where I live and the immediate area is fairly conservative and uses common sense and is Communist. We're close enough to Sacramento though (the capital and home of ass-backwards Communist politicians) that we get affected by some stuff. I live in the foothills though so the mountains and freedom are close for me.

    True to an extent, but mostly if you're overzealous with the throttle. If you're doing it right, traction to the rear tires increases as you accelerate out of a turn.

    But makes it harder to regain control if you do experience any slip. Mid-engine cars tend to have less progressive (and therefore less controllable) break away than with a front engine car.


    Nissan GT-R is a front engine layout. So is the Lexus LFA and the Corvette.
    All three of them are record-breaking cars with world-class handling.


    I'm not saying that mid and rear engine cars are bad; just that the front engine cars category has some pretty stellar models too.
