You have to sink about 3 times as much money into them before they are capable of doing anything and not breaking.

 

Jeeps are plenty capable. Not like the Taco is all that special stock.

 

Depends on how you look at it I guess. I'm not talking about low rated trails when I say that. I'm talking about 7+. Once you get into those high up trails you start to notice which vehicles perform better. I can see mild trails and Jeeps being better out of the box but I usually don't use that to compare.

We had some guys follow us in Moab during EJS one year that had hemi's swapped into their jeeps and totally built up. They kept getting stuck over things we went over. Asked us how much we had in our runner and about died when we said about 9k. They had around 60k in theirs.
