So I was just notified that I have a 2 part shipment arriving tomorrow from two random tracking numbers. Have no idea what they are

I'm guessing it's my bike muffler and header. Being shipped from a company that I didn't order from, but since the packages total over 5 lbs I don't know what else it could be haha

Haha yeah, so much of our aircraft is based on the software nowadays.

That's why Israel destroys us in training scenarios in F16's...

 

I have a big model F117 that I've had for like 15 years someplace...


was there a more recent skirmish? The last one I remember reading about was IAF vs USN Hornets like a decade ago, and they had a tech advantage

 

Sweet. Other than spotting B2 Bombers, that road looks ridiculously boring to ride on. No curves.

Me personally, I've always wanted to fly a P-38 or a P-51. I could care less about flying a modern computer controlled fighter (although I bet that the thrill from the first time you dumped an afterburner would be hard to match)

However...

I was fishing on the Sandy River in probably ?2005?, in a canoe. The Sandy's a fairly curvy river with tall trees on both banks, so it's like being in a twisty canyon. I kept hearing jet engine rumbles in the distance so I was scanning the sky for contrails, but couldn't see anything. All of a sudden two A10's explode around the curve ahead of me (maybe 200 yards away), blow over and past my canoe and disappear upstream around the next curve. The whole time they were MAYBE 20-25 feet off the water. I just about shat myself and nearly fell off the boat.
Told my Dad about it when I got home and he told me that the Nat. Guard flies the rivers to practice for canyon runs when they're deployed in Afghanistan. For as loud as those suckers were when they blasted around that corner, before they appeared they were quiet enough that I couldn't place the sound direction.

It's safe to say that I've found the A10's to be pretty damn impressive ever since then. I was certainly impressed at the time.

 

Really need to get my truck registered.. Hasn't been road legal for about a week now
