Hope this isn't too much :anonymous:

It's actually a really good video! I like some of your transitions, very creative with the shots, and I also like the transitions into the "action" with the music. You also got a lot of different shots to be able to play with and you stayed on each shot for a good amount of time, not too short or long. Only a couple small nit-picky critiques from me (just little editing tidbits). Some of the shots could have had the sound muted (such as around 1:54) since it's just clacking/nothing really important to hear, 2:05 could have been trimmed a little shorter to take out the pan down to your feet.

Other ideas I had was you could have done some of the axe shots in slow motion, or even like a quick forward/reverse (if that makes sense), since you did a fade in for sound around 3:19 with black an additional fade in to the video would have made a little smoother transition, capitalize your credits, and trim the end to finish with the song :)

Feel free to critique mine too

You didn't go crazy with the edits and i like that. I feel they fit well with the adventure and fun having theme. I'm not crazy about the music but thats what seems to be popular these days and its i feel like its very easy to feel kind of "cheery" listening to it...so it works well.

I'm no film cridic or someone who has actual knowledge of this stuff i just talk out my ass and try to make sense

Nope. Love the little nitpicks of the little things that done flow. Its good to know that all of the nitpicks were things that were intentional. So at least I know about them and I wasnt forgetting lol.

The reason I left sound in that wasnt important, was intentional. I took out a bunch of audio clips and i thing it sounded weird going from a shot with background noise to zero background noise and just music. Even if it was just from the mic or whatever it felt absent without some background noise like the rest of the clips. I just tried to make those super quiet.

The pan to the feet, kind of intentional, more so I looked at it and thought it was an ok way to finish that sequence of clips. Maybe would have been better if I had actually drawn it out to look all the way down and zoom in at the same time, and maybe a short fade. I actually had a shot of me throwing 2 axes at once i would have slo mo'd but i felt that sent the wrong message about saftey. I was going for more of a rapid style sequence with the axes. maybe if I had used less shots I would have thrown some slo mo in there but I was trying to make it more fast paced, while still leaving enough clip length to figure out what is happening. (ya i put a lot of weird thought into a lot of these things)

The cut at 3:19 was also intentional, as im not trying to add another section of film, just one clip on at the end for humor. I have seen that type of clip/trick used in some videos so I was trying to mimic. it. I faded the sound in because having sound start and end abruptly is just annoying lol. Same with the music at the end. I wanted a looooong fade out so it didnt just stop.

As for the crdits, also intentionally left em lower case haha. I can certainly change it, im just justifying my decision lol! Also have seen a few credit rolls with lower case everything and kinda liked it for some reason so I wanted to try it.

Well thank you. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately cant make everyone happy on the music choice.

Awesome vid! My only critique is when you reversed the vid, and then did it again shortly after. But that's it

Maybe have a short 2 minute action intro vid for the advertisment and then a longer vid for people who don't want to sit for 5 minutes (ADD-Nation :p )

But I think it would be cool if you started the vid with some senic footage and the whole - Day:XXX Time:XXX and don't forget lots of screaming death metal music!!!

Thanks! Ya those I added in after I was all done as an experiment to add a little variety. I wasnt sure if they would even work at all but I got a couple good responses so i kept em but if they suck im open to pulling them out! Was twice too much? maybe just once

no offence at all! Thats good to hear the vibe was consistent and fun!

Haha sounds good. I do understand though. I know sometimes I want to add things or take out things and then sometimes that screws up others and then it doesn't fit into the music so sometimes I'm almost forced to do things I'd rather not do, etc

I'm guessing you pulled it out of the waterproof case for the shots that involved talking?

slow motion is sick! I see people use way too much tho, its super easy to over do it.

and i need to upgrade the video editor. I have a number of tools I needed (like a velocity envelope for slow mo for instance) that the one im using doesent have, feels good to have already maxed out some of the capability of this home video editor.

    ...it's currently -9 degrees out...

I might have to upgrade to a better editor in the future as well. With some future endeavors I have in mind, I'm going to need to potentially be able to do some more editing with photos within the video.
