Yep, that was me:) Bombing mountains is soooo much fun!!!

My car is making good boost already haha. I consistently see 21-22 psi with boost peaking at about 25 psi. Only way to get more boost is to go with a bigger turbo....

What kind of power are you putting down? I had an 03 wrx pushing 21psi with a forced performance 18g turbo, 850cc injectors, catless, bigger top mount intercooler, and other small stuff and put down 330 but thats AWHP so my drivetrain loss was pretty significant.

I'm putting down 205-210 whp and 270-285 wtq. My car has an intake, 3" cat-back exhaust w/ no muffler, larger front mount intercooler, Cobb tune, sound symposer delete (lets the turbo spool faster), and stock turbo.

My car only weighs about 2600 also.

My so called “teacher/instructor” likes to try and gives us a test on shit we have not gone over yet. likes to bitch about the higher up’s and not being able to teach the class like he wants to. tell us one day that the next day. we should put out stuff in the class room and come down to the shop and find him and see if our metal is in. 3 of us students did that and he yelled at us and told us we are not doing as we are told.

acts like he is the best teacher/instructer in the world. Tells us he knows what he is talking about and we just need to listen to him.

bitched at me because i put the lead over my shoulder and told me i can’t do that because i’m not a pipe welder and only pipe welders do that. than tells us to get as comfortable as we can, than turns around and says we can’t get comfortable because we wont ever be comfortable on a job.

Thats not even the worst of the stuff he has said. and yes i have complained and was told they have some concerns about him.

I had an instructor who tested us on stuff we never went over. That why you read ;)

He would kick people out of class if they didn't read and only have time to cover maybe 20% or the reading we needed.

He would say his own department is falling below par on teaching and have an ego bigger than mine.

    Probably my favorite class

Nahhh Ima get a new Job soon. The welding process and work here is literally the most boring welding on earth. And is the same thing every day over and over again. Just not my line of work at all. I need something that changes up every now and then and challenges me.

well when the questions are about safety in a welding shop just reading the question and answers dose not really work when you don’t even have the book you need either.

also class is 4pm to 10pm mon-thruesday 2 days a week there is only 6 fucking students the other 2 days there is 8.(2 of them are HS seniors and co op because they took 4 years of welding and its dual enrollment so all there HS class hours transferred. it’s not like he has 20 students.

I can understand him saying "get comfy" and then turning around and say "you'll never be comfy"...

Anyone who has ever "got comfortable" around dangerous equipment will know that not the best idea.

One example is electricity. I worked a few summers doing little electric stuff as a job and I shocked the shit out of myself numerous times because I got too comfortable with what I was doing.

Being uncomfortable makes you aware of what is around you

it’s a state tech school. (they have like 18 or 20 locations across the state) but because they have/had a long waiting list they got with a a few high schools that they have a relationship with and that have a shop to do the class in.

no other options for welding class around me.(within like 2 hours, and i don’t really want to move for classes.)

18-20 locations? Sounds like they care about numbers more than quality which could explain the style of teaching.

Thats across the whole state though, The way it works is kinda hard to explain. They have different people “managing” each location so it’s not the same people for all the locations.

also they have locations every 1 to 2.5 hours away from each other.

Well yes I'd expect different instructors at each location lol but just saying it sounds like the school is looking to get as many schools and students as possible rather than having a couple school that students will get a better education and training at.
