Complain? Since when was asking questions complaining? By the way to motor works, so I don't have to buy a new one anymore. I just have to re-set the gears :)

mmkk well i talked to a couple of mechanics and yota gurus sooo whatever. do me a favor and just slap it in and see it it works fine. if not, you will know very quickly, then you can adjust the rack.

also that complicated write up you posted sounds like waaay too much work. we adjusted my rack 20 min before the hells gate run in moab this year and it works perfectly now. just see how far the motor spins when you hit the button with the motor out side of the third, and adjust the rack accordingly. might take 4 or 5 tries bit it is easier than whatever you posted. if you do it right (and it is dialed in to the tooth) it will basically lock instantly if you aren't moving. And unlock instantly. It will also sound different when it is adjusted wrong than on a factory truck with it in adjustment. but that is all because I don't have an ecu, i still think you just need to slap it in and the ecu will control how much it needs to move for a smooth luck and unlock. thats what the secondary harness with 2 wires is for, it senses when it is locked and unlocked and tells the motor when to stop.

I have come to the conclusion my whole truck is made out of honey badger. Im just driving a giant green honey badger it gives so little fucks what I do to it.

not necessarily from that. that wouldnt blow a fuse. more like if a fuse blew you know there is either a power surge or some wires got jacked up and are crossing.

Wouldn't be any blown fuses or the grey wire mod causing is not to disengage.

I'm just going by what I've read. You have more hands on experience than I do. I just don't think mine is set correctly because it only will turn the gear one way and not the other. If I turn the gear to the locked position and hit unlock it will turn to unlock, and if I turn gear to the unlocked position and hit lock it will turn. But it won't do both.

that club has a lot of old jeepers, its a lot of (old) jeep guys. :anonymous:

but one run with em and this 20s whipper snapper with his toyota impressed quite a few of em haha

it won't do both huh? does the light come on correctly when you try to test it in the street? Have you put the rear axles on jack stands and messed with it without the tires on the ground?

im not knocking your need to fine tune it, if thats what it takes hell ya do it. I just talked to a toyota tech and a mechanic and thats what i got from them.

the ultimate wake up call i got that it wasn't aligned correctly was going through a ditch in 2 hi, with all that force on the half unlocked collar, it made some god awful noises

Nope, it just blinks the entire time, even when it engages. Tested on the street, tested with tires in the air as well. If it doesn't hit the right contacts at the right time it won't go the correct amount nor will will it know whether or not it is locked. But it could also be a wiring issue.

I would think thats a problem with that secondary harness not reading correctly then, or something being faulty in the ecu.
you also said it could be a wiring issue, did you mess with the wiring at all or change anything that would mix up some wires possibly?
have you ever gotten it to stay on and work correctly since it started having problems?

I think you should take that secondary locking detector harness, and tap into it and wire it to a small light, so if it locks correctly it will simply light up the light and you will know the ecu is having problems would be my guess. you said you took it apart and rebuilt it, did you check that switch that detects when the locker is fully engaged? I dont know how that guy works honestly since i dont even use it

    well, he is old...

I rewired 3 wires that got burnt which was initially what messed up my locker.

It works correctly and locks, but the light still blinks and it won't unlock afterwards.

I'll have to look up what wire does what exactly and see.

If I can't get anything to line up correctly I'll check all of the wiring.

If the wiring is messed up, I may just get rid of the stock wiring and try to set it up like yours. How does yours work without all of the computer stuff?
