    Nice avatar btw :D

So, I finished cleaning up the wiring, tuning the amp, and learning to use all of the settings on my radio.

Went to make a video review for jbmccul, pressed the on button on the radio and it wouldn't turn on. Evidently my battery died....

And nobody is answering their phones, so I can't jump start it. Haha

Brent, read this webpage for me.

We still don't know if we are getting paid. Lawyers are trying to figure out the verbiage of this act to see if it means we get paid on time.

On Nov 1st my parents might not get paid, they could lose their bonds, and they could lose their health insurance. Pretty sweet situation

Yep. I'm slowly re-evaluating my career choice after this enlistment is up. I will be 5 years away from retirement at that point too.

Haha too much reading. I'm not too worried about it, as long as we get payed within a month or so. I'm sure it'll get figured out and congress will finally make up their mind on what to do.

If not, well I guess my bank will have to drive 13 hours West to take my truck from me. Haha

He already has the red and green skids in production. He's making the transfer case skid now.

I think 5 or 6. At least that's what it looks like from reading through his for sale thread.

I'll probably buy a set from him once everything is complete.

Only thing I'd change is his crossmember for the belly skid. Just 3/16s plate like that won't hold it. Needs to be tubing of some sort.

I'm sure he has something in mind for it considering he just started on it today.

I've sold quite a few now. More than just the people on here. Mostly just the IFS with rack coverage. The skid you bought blackdawg was the very first so I modified it some since then. Every skid since then has fit great.

And Blackdawg, I'm going to respectfully disagree with you about the strength of the belly pan. A strength analysis simulation shows less that .25" of deflection if 25,000 lbs of force slams it. And of course that is at the very back center of the part. That's also a ways behind the transfer case since this belly pan also covers the catalytic converter. Anything back there is up a ways from the belly pan.
(Image is obviously exaggerated, the max deflection is 6mm)

Well i know if bought one..id add gussets to the frame suports. 3/16s aint that strong. And if its gonna hold all 5000-6000lbs of my truck..it'll bend.

Bud builts bend all the time. Not a crossmember problem..but they have a very stout crossmember. but the plate does really badly when abuse like they are supposed to be.

guys weld angle iron onto them to reinforce them a bit.

and sorta figured thats why i had to trim some of it down. Still fits and i slammed the piss out of it last outting and it works good.

The budbuilt has no support in the middle at all. The crossmember is at the rear. I put the support in the center where the transfer case is. I would rather protect that than the cat so anything behind is a bonus. Skid row doesn't protect the cat at all.
If this plate dents, my transmission skid dents, and my ifs skid dents. Better than putting a hole through an oil pan or something. It's what I offer. Can't please everyone but I hope I please someone.

Thats a distributed load, not a point load like what you would see landing on a sharp rock.

A sharp rock would be even better since it would cause a quick local dent instead of crushing the whole plate. The average yield strength of A36 makes it a wear item. Thicker steel or bracing is the answer for the hardcore people that probably make their own anyway.

In conclusion, I design these to be SKID plates. They are made for skidding across crap. They aren't drop plates. If someone wants extra support they can ask. I charge the least out of anyone so mine might not be perfect for everyone but they will be fine for someone.
