You don't need to do it. I only did it to clean up the mess that was starting to show up from having all my accessories on the battery. It looks a lot cleaner! If you were to only put the light bar on I probably wouldn't worry about it. But its your decision!

I think some guys on here have put a 32" in the lower valance, mine is a 30" and yes it came with its own brackets.

Just a heads up, you're a member on this board which means you won't just have one accessory. Right NOW you might but give it some time ;)

The brackets are included with the light bar.

Mine is the avec light bar 30" behind the valence without any cut outs. Basically what I did was hand tap my threads into the crash bar for the mounting bolts. Also have a otrattw switch. I didn't mind it being able to be turned on with the truck being turned off. I also tapped my switch into my fog light switch to have the capability to dim or brighten the switch bottom light with my dash lights. Love the set up and switch. No one even knows it's there until I turn it on!

    None yet.
Just a quick question and looking for some opinions on what I should do with my light bar. Does anyone have a 20" single row (12x XM-L U2 or so they say) LED bar mounted behind a valance that has not been cut? I am wondering how much the light gets cut down. I was planning on recessing the light bar by bolting two small aluminum plates to the crash bar and mounting the LED bar to that. Just curious if it is worth cutting the valance or not.

Hey man just wanted to let you know the grills on the 12+ are a little tighter and smaller... getting a 32" in is a pain but it will fit, i know

Ended up going with a 28, fits perfect and its hidden right behind the grates. No diverted light at all.

I have a 30" behind my lower valence and mounted it to the crash bar and it fits perfect and it doesn't affect the lights at all. Didn't have to cut a single thing. You can even stand in front of the truck and the light stay fully illuminated. I don't have lights behind my grille though.

I have a 14' and with the 30" the bar itself comes to the edge of both sides. IMHO I think the 30" is the length that you would want to go if you want to utilize the full bottom valence. I'm not sure about the earlier years but for my truck I think that a 32" would have been to wide and some of the light would have been cut off by the valence.

Guys got question when you install in the lower valance. What do you do with the license plate? Just remove it? Thanks

Luckily I do not require a license plate!
