I have always had aux. lights on all of my cars and trucks, typically relayed 100w Cibie or PIAA 80 ProXTs. I've been very happy with the light pattern and strength.

Now that LEDs appear to be getting better quality - especially around the instant on/off aspect - I'm interested.

My question is: will a 30" bar be overwhelmingly bright?! Like to the point of unnecessary??

I'm leaning toward a Rigid or onX6 from Baja Designs.

    Any thoughts?

If you're interested, I have a spare 30" bar that I'm going to list for sale. It's brand new, never even mounted and, depending on where you are in VT, I could meet you so you can see it in person before buying. Bought it on a group buy here but didn't fit where I wanted. They are bright as hell, but too bright, to me, doesn't register. I definitely wouldn't use them in traffic, but for dark, back roads, I don't think you can get 'too bright' as long as the light is directed where you need it.

    Sure. I'd be interested.

Who manufactures the kit you have?

    Some stuff here and there....
I have a 30" mounted in my lower bumper. And no its not to bright. Its allot brighter then my brights are but it makes it allot nicer to have on driving dark roads when the presence of elk are around. I can see them coming from a long distance its nice

This is the group buy I purchased from:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...uy-led-light-bars-cost-led-illuminations.html

The company is LED Illuminations but I'm not sure if they're the manufacturer though. It's a 30" combo, upgraded with the 3D lenses. It looks really sharp, it just didn't fit on my truck. I actually bought another 30" bar that was a little narrower so it fit on my truck. I paid $250 for it with shipping and PP fees and it's still in the original packaging, just sitting in my basement.

And I should add, there's no pressure here at all. If this isn't what you want, you aren't going to hurt my feelings. I'm just throwing it out there since you're local and I happen to have a spare :)

I have a few of the Wurton Scout Diffused LED lights that work great. But I plan on adding a 30" Combo pattern bar for more light out front. Friend of my has one and it puts a ton of light out there. Only thing I plan to do a bit different is get one that has an amber lens, or amber lens cover for better trail definition.

I don't know if this would appeal to you or not but I bought some Lamin-X Film for some pods that I have to tint the light. I figure it would be good protection for the lens also and, if it gets beat up, I'll just replace it in a few years.
