I tried the Home Depot L bracket method for the last 10 months on a 30" bar and I could never get the bar to stay aimed and it seemed to always become very loose after only a few wash board road drives. I just switched to Rago Fabs mounts and am having a much better experience. I was worried all the loose rattling of the light was eventually going to lead to a broken light bar. I went with a Arsenal 30" light and OPT7 14 Gauge 380W Wiring Harness. Because it was a 30" bar I had to add spacers in order for the bar to fit the Rago mounts. So far the light made it leak free through one wet snowy Montana winter and spring.

Thinking of doing this myself as well, but I want to cut off the ‘fencing’ or ‘grid’ to expose the LEDs completely. That’s possible right?

That should be super easy to do with a dremel or similar tool

Exactly would be super easy. But to be honest if your worried about light output it doesn’t make a difference at all

No need to do this. Unless you dislike the look, then cut the plastic out.

Did you have to cut the side and the fencing or just the fencing?

I cut both. Not a big deal.

IMG_0931.jpg IMG_0946.jpg No need to cut it. Makes no difference in light. Gives more of a "stealth" look imho. hth

Depends on the mounts. Some keep the lights behind the “grates” some you need to cut. Rigid you have to cut

Yes, you are right. I used "Rago Fabrication" mounts (flush mount).

I ran into a problem when wiring my light bar up. I received the harness and switch from Cali-raised and they did have a wiring diagram on the switch product page but it was gone when I went to look at it tonight. The Caliraised harness is the same color as the rough country harness, would it be safe to assume that they are the same and I could wire it up just like the above harness and switch? Ive included my own pics for reference.

Do you have a pic of it not on, from the front? I like the more blacked out look but bars like the Rigid midnight series, which look amazing, are a little to pricey for me

I'll take one today when I get home; the truck isn't my daily.

And same here, I like the look of this one, the only downside is the bolt size made me file down my brackets just a tad bit to make them fit. Other then that, the glass still reflects light depending on the time of day so it's not 100% incognito, but it's really damn close most of the time.

Was wondering what did you do with the other red wire? Did you just tape it up? Would it be an issue if its just lose like that?
