There's a giant aluminum bumper down there. Is anyone securing to that?

I did as well. I finally figured out how to mount mine. This is a Cali Raised 4d bar.
Here are the mounts I fabricated.

Here is where I attached them.
    20151220_134548.jpg
And here is the finished product. Super solid.

Dumb question, can you run these on the street?
I live out in the country and this would be kind of handy.

Legally no. If you live somewhere rural you will be fine as long as you turn it off before the sheriff comes over the hill.

I can't speak to the quality yet but @Jake Long15 shipped unbelievably fast and the price seemed fair. I have some flush mounts of his lights to mount on my rear bumper once I figure a good place to mount them.

I think some places you can be legal if you wire them into your highbeams. But I am no law expert so check your local regulations. How do the California guys get away with it? I was ticketed back in the 90s in cali for having good old KC lights on my truck without lens covers.

I'd say the output is worth the price.
It was snowing hard when I took these so I imagine they will be even brighter on a clear night.

Hard to say. It has to a little bit but with a bar with this much light output it appears to be an acceptable amount. It is lighting at least 400 yards down that road.

It is just a corner brace from home depot. It is a 6" corner brace. Nothing special.

did you take off the plastic that was covering the frame, where you attached your L brackets?

No. There is no plastic covering the mounting location. There are plastic upright wings on either side that fill in the space between the grill and the engine bay. I did remove these so I could insert the light and to give enough room to do the intstall.
