Hey all, just joined the taco world couple weeks ago purchasing a nice 2007 Tacoma. Everything was working great till the other day when i was accelerating at a slow rate (i was in old town) when i felt this very uncomfortable lurch which you could feel in the whole truck, which continued after every stop sign unless i gave it more gas. I was thinking it could be the drive shaft or u bolt but not sure. Anyone else experience this and could help a brother out? really want to keep this truck.

    Thank you!

More like a rumble between 30-35 unless I accelerate quicker

Is the clam shell bushing remedy for this? In the video he says vibration but in my truck the rumbling could be picked up on a Richter scale

Been reading some more, transmission flush/coolant flush, you think this could be the remedy. Let's hear some replies guys don't want to dump unnecessary money into this if its a lifelong thing like epilepsy

Check the universal Joints and carrier bearing... Usually you will feel the vibration in the seat during acceleration.

It would feel like the entire truck is vibrating. If you don't know how to check the U Joints and Carrier bearing I would get it checked by someone that does know how. If it comes loose at highway speeds it could be really bad...

    One thing at a time......

I would start by greasing all the ujoints on the driveshafts first....and go from there.

Search the forum on a 'how to'. Note: After you grease the u-joints, you might get some additional vibes or sensations as the grease gets worked into the joints. That should only last a day.....if that.

Do you have a 2007 TRD Sport? If yes - you have the mechanical LSD. I don't know if this could be part of the issue, depending on the previous owners maintenance history.

Good call. It could be the LSD Additive and gear oil change needed in the rear differential.

Why not pop your truck by a transmission shop for a free road test . Those guys know there stuff and can usually tell whats going on just by driving your truck down the street

Ive thought of that, just don't want them to turn my truck into a transmission project like everyone else's horror stories, replacing torque converters, drive shafts and differentials before realizing they can't fix it by replacing it. Probably taking it to the dealer today see if i can't get their service team to play with it

More news, not sure if related. Key was having trouble turning over, thought it was just my key getting worn down so i used the spare and it still had an issue. I could get it started but it wouldn't turnover every time. Don't know if this means spark plugs or what but thought it was important

Your truck is a 2007.... and its 8 years old. The previous owner probably was 'lacking' in the maintenance department. The truck needs a little TLC. The battery is probably original...long overdue for a change. The driveshafts probably haven't been lubed. How are your brakes? Have you had the frame inspected yet? You should also have the front diff & transfer case oils changed (especially the front diff). Check your antifreeze level in the overflow tank.

These are just some major items I can think of that I've done to my own 07 over the years. Good Luck!!
Take care of her and she'll take care of you!
