all steel is heavvyyyyy, but depends on needs and budget. If I ever get a 3rd gen it'll definitely be steel/aluminum for myself. Really really like it.

I plan to beat the shit out of my bumper so it's a no brainer for me.

The shell of these bumpers is interchangeable though. So the winch cradle and all that is steel, so you don't rip your bumper apart winching on an aluminum mount. Then the shell can either be steel or aluminum.

If you want, you could literally buy an aluminum and steel shell, then swap them whether you are going on a hard wheeling run or just mall crawling for a few weeks. Without having to take the entire bumper off

It is for sure, We can knock 15lbs to 20lbs off the steel bumpers of they are fully welded and not two piece.

pssh nah that would take away from the ingenuity of the bumper. Really like how you guys engineered this because of what @bot102 mentioned above and what you guys have in the item description on the page about planning to offer multiple shell options. Going rock crawling? steel shell. Going fast in the desert? Light prerunner tube shell, aluminum, etc.

Hell, maybe even possibly sell some generic shell mounting plates so dudes can get creative and try to design their own shells while being able to build off a solid foundation.

Can't wait to see what you guys are cooking up.

I've had my eye on this one, definitely on the short list. Really like the lightweight option of aluminum and the great price. But I don't like how far it sticks out, especially the recovery points.

I'm interested to see what all BAMF comes out with in the future. Maybe more low-profile shells etc. The glory of how they built this thing. Hell, I might even hop in AutoCAD and try and design/fab myself a shell lol

It's around 3" past the grille. Every single person that sees it in person has commented on that. And I quote.

"Man the pics dont do it justice, I thought it stuck out way more then that"
