30-pin built in

Ok so u can do what i did. My headunit has a locking plug and I ran that plug into my glovebox for my old iPod video. So what I did is I used the cablejive dock extender and plugged one side into my headunits locking plug located in my glovebox and ran the other side to where it is now installed in my truck. The cablejive extension does not have locking plugs and does feed all 30 pins through the cord.

 

Ohhh ok, im glad i asked. So it doesnt feed all 30 pins but the manufactuer claims:
Listen to audio, watch video, record a memo, charge, sync, control your device, and more.
I just dont want to lose my ability to control pandora and itunes through my headunit. Looks like i wont though. Awesome, thanks for the help man this will look alot cleaner than what i have now. Might have to order this cord right now. When i was first looking into this i was hoping to somehow put a female end into the plug. Then find a male to male cord to plug my phone in, but no adapters like this exist. Your setup will pretty much serve the same purpose though.

 

they are going to or already have made an adapter to go from the old 30 to the new 19 pin. idk if it’s out yet or not. also read that it may come with the iphone 5. but idk any more than that i still have the 4. and will till march or so unless it messes up.

 

^ya they make one. So this setup would still work with an iphone5. You would need an adapter anyway for any headunit iphone interface cord if you have a 5. Those cords probably wont be out for awhile.

Oh and its $30 bucks and apple has a patent for it so other company cant make $10 ones
