How did you know the water pump was bad? Did you also change your timing chain?

 

I'll be at 300k before the end of the year.

 

@smcgill had a 2008 with 336K, still ran fine but just needed work. He also had a small plow on it for personal use.

 

Huh, sorry about that, it's an automatic. I've had this signature (see below as to what shows on my screen) since joining TW many years ago, interesting that it does not appear to others.

each time it started leaking from the weep hole located on the bottom of it.
Still the original timing chain. Checked it's tension about 100,000K ago through a small access port on the top/frt passenger side of the motor, the tension was fine. Although changing the timing chain would still require a ton of work as the water pump is on top of the timing chain cover, not a part of it.

There are a couple 400K 2nd gens on here. I'm sure there are a few 300Ks. Good work keeping her going strong that long. I bought mine in Feb 2012 with 30 miles on it. I'm a tank or two from 120K. Planning to run it for a long time.
