Don't forget the ceramic muffler bearings. That should boost you up to the 400hp level.

Drain your turn signal fluid, makes the truck lighter, better acceleration and gas mileage.

The truck stock is rated @ 245hp at the crank so do you want crank hp or are you looking to gain some REAL at the wheel HP numbers?

I dunno what others have experienced but i went to Dynocomp and dyno'd 195 RWHP.

Since then i have added the TRD intake, exhaust, URD y-pipe, Doug Thorley Long Tube headers and the URD MAF calibrator to tune it. After all those mods i Dyno'd and tuned again and i was at a whoppin 215RWHP (on 33's and 17 chrome procomp wheels).

The cheapest and most efficient way to reach the 300 RWHP mark is to do the TRD supercharger..... they can be had now on ebay every so often for around $3000 without the fit kit.

Now the new URD kit looks very promising pushing over the 400 mark but then again you dont get a warranty.

i like the nitrous idea, he'll just need a reaaaalllyyy big tank then it could be constant 300 hp
a 50 gal nitrous tank in the bed should work

Is it a must that you go with higher grade fuel if you install a SC on your vehicle?

I believe KaleCoAuto has everything you need in order to get your vehicle to 300HP.

I like everyones ideas and thoughts ('cept the NOS). Maybe 300 was over-ambitious? Dropping $4K is not in the budget just yet.

Lets make it simpler here. Taking into account that I am probably going to have a shop do the work - How can I get the most total HP out of my engine with a budget of...

    Low end...$300 - $700

    High end... $800 - $1000?

For that kind of money, your not going to get more than 10 to 20 hp....max. A new intake "might" get you 5 hp. A cat back, maybe another 5.

Just as Chris said, for that money youre not going to get a whole lot. If you go back up to my post a few up you will see that with the intake, exhaust, y-pipe headers and the MAF calibrator i gained a net HP of like 20 to the wheels.

To tell you the truth if i were to get one thing to increase power now that i know, id get the APR X-1. I dont have it yet but it is MUCH more tuneable than the MAF that i do have.
